July Tips For Dog Parents
- Fireworks Safety: Fourth of July fireworks can be frightening for dogs. Create a calm, quiet space indoors. Consider a calming vest or consult your vet about safe anxiety-relief options.
- BBQ Awareness: Keep pups away from the grill! Common BBQ foods like onions, corn cobs, bones, and greasy meats can be dangerous to dogs.
- Watch The Temps: hot for your pup. Stick to morning or evening walks.
- Sun & Shade: Make sure your dog has access to shade and plenty of fresh water if spending time outside. Short-snouted breeds (like Bulldogs and Pugs) are especially prone to overheating.
- Travel Prep: Planning a summer trip? Bring your dog’s essentials: food, treats, ID tags, leash, water, and a favorite toy. If traveling by car, ensure proper restraint or crate space.
