Turkey & Cranberry Mini-Burgers

The holiday table goes to humans, but the kitchen counter belongs to the supervisor. These mini-burgers are protein-packed, gently sweet from the cranberries, and exactly the kind of thing your pup will smell from three rooms away. We make them for Thanksgiving morning so everyone gets a little something.

Ingredients

  • ½ lb lean ground turkey
  • ¼ cup finely chopped cranberries (fresh, or unsweetened dried)
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup oat flour

How to make them

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the turkey, cranberries, egg, and oat flour. Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly distributed.
  3. Form the mixture into small, bite-sized patties — about the size of a quarter for small pups, or a little bigger for larger dogs.
  4. Place the patties on a lined baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the patties are cooked through and lightly golden.
  6. Let cool completely before serving.
Keep them happy
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or freeze for later — they'll keep in the freezer for about a month. Only use fresh cranberries or unsweetened dried; the sweetened, sugared ones from the holiday baking aisle aren't safe for dogs.
