"Sweet and savory in one bite — that's a chef trick I use in my own cooking all the time. Turns out dogs love it too. Monkey inhales these."
Chris Schmidt · The Chef Series

Ingredients

  • 2 cups oat flour
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • ½ cup frozen blueberry puree
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup bone broth (any type — beef, chicken, or turkey)

How to make them

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the wet ingredients — eggs, bone broth, and blueberry puree — until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients (oat flour and rice flour), stirring until a stiff dough forms.
  4. Fill football helmet silicone molds, or roll out the dough and use cookie cutters in any shape.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  6. Cool completely before serving — preferably overnight for the best crunch.
Keep them happy
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks, or freeze for longer. Make your own blueberry puree by blending fresh or frozen blueberries — no added sugar. For the bone broth, choose an unsalted or low-sodium version without onion or garlic (many store-bought broths contain both, so read labels carefully). The store-bought "pet broths" from the pet aisle work well if you want to skip the label reading.
