Sebastian, our big fluffy Great Pyrenees managed to run our household without ever paying rent. Born in 2010, he gave us 15 years of love, loyalty, and fur — *so much fur*. Honestly, if we’d saved all of it, we could have knitted at least five more dogs.
Sebastian took his job as guardian very seriously. Our kids never left the yard without being carefully herded back by his giant, gentle presence. And don’t even get me started on his barking. Every single leaf that dared to fall in the yard? He let it know who was boss. UPS drivers, squirrels, the wind — all kept in check by Sebastian. We never really needed a security system — we had him.
But underneath that booming bark was the sweetest soul. Sebastian never hurt a living thing. Not a squirrel, not a bird, not even a flea. He would have probably invited burglars in and offered them snacks — after warning us about their arrival, of course.
He was goofy, stubborn, endlessly gentle, and absolutely devoted to us. Sebastian wasn’t just our dog — he was family. He grew up with our children, watched over us, and gave us more love than we could have ever asked for.
So here’s to Sebastian: our watchdog, our leaf police, our fur factory, and our best friend. He was the sweetest boy, and our home — and our hearts — are forever better because of him.
